The Cyprus government, in its continuous effort to attract foreign investments, has adopted a range of policies that allow third country/ non - EU individuals to obtain Residence Permit in Cyprus or even an (E.U.) Cyprus Passport.

Permanent Residency Permits (PRP)

A PRP can be obtained with simplified and fast forward procedures when an individual from a third country acquires a residence in Cyprus valued at €300.000 or more. Such permits will be issued by the Minister of Interior, provided the applicant:

• has no criminal record,
• has an insured annual income of an appropriate amount (around €20.000 per couple per annum), which is generated from abroad and not from employment or self employment within Cyprus, and
• intends to emigrate in Cyprus (conditions vary by case)

The holders of the Immigration Permit may apply for a Cyprus passport/nationality after 7 years of stay on the island.
