On 13 October 2020, Reanda International held a webinar entitled “Overseas fiscal and tax policies and risk response strategies” to share insights on the latest fiscal, tax and regulatory priorities in Malaysia, Cambodia, Nepal, UK, Italy, UAE and Mozambique with Chinese enterprises operating in overseas, in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The webinar was well attended by over 130 guests and participants from Chinese enterprises operating in overseas, business associations, professional services sector in China as well as network firms of Reanda International.

The webinar commenced with an opening speech delivered by Chairman Mr. Huang Jinhui introducing the latest development of Reanda International “Belt and Road” Finance, Tax and Law Supporting Centre, the rising needs for high-quality professional services from the Chinese enterprises operating in overseas as well as Reanda International’s ongoing efforts in capturing the business wave arising from the Belt and Road Initiative under the new normal in the post-COVID-19 period. It was followed by keynote speeches given by honourable guests Mr. Jin Xu, Mr. Wang Yaping and Mr. Wang Liyan on the current global and national investment environment under Covid-19, the impact of Covid-19 to businesses as well as risk mitigation strategies for Chinese enterprises going global.

The webinar was further brimmed with presentations from Reanda network firms; Mr. L.L. Koong, managing partner of Reanda Malaysia; Mr. Larry Ng, partner of Reanda Cambodia; Mr. Bishnu Bhandari, partner of Reanda Nepal; Mr. Robert Bean, managing Partner of Reanda UK; Ms. Susan Sopianac, fiscal Specialist of Reanda Italy; Mr. Avinash Jagetiya, partner of Reanda UAE and Mr. José Farinha, partner of Mozambique correspondent firm shared the latest updates of fiscal and tax policies as well as risks mitigation strategies of their respective jurisdictions.

During the Q&A session, our experienced panel of guests shared their valuable experiences of participating in the “Belt and Road” projects of their respective organisations and associations. The webinar then concluded with closing remarks given by Mr. Jin Xu.

The webinar, as supported by China-Africa Business Council, China International Contractors Association, China Agriculture Association for International Exchange, China International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector and Asia Society in China, was the first webinar held by Reanda International in the series this year to share the latest fiscal, tax and regulatory priorities in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More webinars will be planned in the course of coming months to share insights of other jurisdictions in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
