Why Biotech Convention in Hong Kong?

  • Hong Kong has long been a gateway for international businesses and investors to tap into the Mainland China market. While the National 14th Five-Year Plan of China states support for Hong Kong to become an international innovation and technology city and Hong Kong being the most international city in the Greater Bay Area - a strategic initiative of the Chinese government to connect Hong Kong and 10 other cities in the Pearl River Delta region of Southern China, Hong Kong now has an even greater potential for its biotech industry to boom with the access to the resources of the Greater Bay Area.
  • Hong Kong is a popular IPO destination for biotech companies. According to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) in 2021, Hong Kong was Asia Pacific’s largest IPO centre for biotech companies. It was the second largest in the world, after the US. In recent years the HKEx has ensured viable pathways allowing pre-revenue and pre-profit biotech companies to be listed - a demonstration of the HKEX's commitment to developing a biotech ecosystem;
  • Hong Kong is the preferred destination for multinationals wanting to set up regional headquarters and offices and many more!

Please feel free to promote this event to any biotech stakeholders that you know.
