Nepal Budget Highlights 2017-18

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara presented the budget at the meeting of the Legislature-parliament on 15th Jestha, 2074. The government has unveiled a budget of Rs. 1,278.99 billion for the fiscal year 2074-75 (2017-18). This budget is backed by an estimated economic growth rate of 6.94 percent, the highest in 23 years.

The new budget, in line with the new Constitution, focuses on allocating funds to newly elected local units separately for the implementation of Nepal’s federalism.
