MITI Approves 1,411 Projects With Investments Worth RM35.1 Billion In Q1

Tuesday, 19 June 2012 04:23 The Ministry of International Trade and Industry has approved combined investments of RM35.1 billion involving 1,411 projects in the first quarter of 2012, its Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said. These projects are expected to generate 43,907 employment opportunities. The services sector attracted the most approved investments at RM17.6 billion, followed by the manufacturing sector with RM15.1 billion and the primary sector at RM2.3 billion, he said in a statement Thursday. Mustapa said the services sector was the largest contributor to domestic investments amounting to RM12.1 billion of the total domestic investments approved. A total of 1,197 services projects were approved with investments amounting to RM17.6 billion, he said, adding that, these project could generate 19,894 employment opportunities.
