India firm partner Mr. Anil Bhandari elected as Central Council Member of ICAI, India

Reanda International is delighted to announce that Mr. Anil Bhandari, partner of the India correspondent firm of Reanda International, has been  elected to the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) from the western region of the country. Mr. Bhandari was one of the 11 elected council members among the total of 22 candidates from the western region in this prestigious election.

The triennial election to the 23rd Central Council of ICAI was held on 4th December, 2015 across the nation participating by some 228,500 voters from members of the ICAI. There were a total of 99 candidates from five different regions of the country contesting for 32 available seats for the Central Council.

The ICAI, established in 1949, is a statutory body for the regulation of the profession of Chartered Accountants in India. The Central Council of ICAI is the highest policy making body of the CA profession in India and manages the affairs of the Institute. The Council consists of 40 members of whom 32 are elected from among the members of the Institute and 8 are nominated by the Government of India. Among the 32 elected Central Council Members, of which 5, 3, 7, 11 and 6 are from the central, eastern, northern, western and southern region of the country respectively.
